He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank J. Tomei and Maryellen Tomei (Colwell); his siblings, Janet Tomei, Ronald Tomei and James Tomei; and his nephew Anthony M. Enea.

He is survived by: his wife Pamela A. Schmitt; his children, Michelle Tomei, John Tomei and Jason Tomei; his siblings, Elaine Enea (Vincent) and Frank Tomei (Candice); and his sister-in-law Deb Cassidy (Doug). He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
