He was predeceased by : his sister Marie Shantler (late Ron). He is survived by : his wife Ellen Pares (Hutz); his grandchildren, Alexandra, Shawn, Gianna and Sophia; and his siblings, Thomas Pares (Debra) and Maria Pares. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
