He was predeceased by : his parents, Marie Chassé and Bélonie Chassé. He is survived by : his wife Betty Lou (Kemnitz); his children, Elaine Chassé of Liverpool, Susan Chassé (Robert Sackel) of Syracuse, Lisa Briere (David) of Mill Spring, NC, David Chassé (Denise), Robert Chassé of Rosemount, MN, William Chassé (Debbie) of Melbourne, FL, Jeanie Owens (Brian) of Liverpool and Richard Chassé (Karie) of Liverpool; his sister L. Susan Chassé of Van Buren, ME; and his siblings-in-law, Suzanne Arvidson, Nancy Kemnitz and Dr. Joseph Kemnitz (Amanda). He is also survived by grandchildren and 6 great grandchildren.

Renate Ferrante wrote a sympathy message

“Dear Sue and family, Steve and I are so sorry for your loss. We fondly remember your dad taking us fiddlehead harvesting and then serving them to us at your parents' home. He had a lot of energy and kindness. May God grant him eternal rest. Besides praying for Mr. Chasse', Sue, and family, we will especially include you, Mrs. Chasse', in our prayers at this time of your loss of your husband of so many years.
