He is survived by: his wife Wilma Yager Merritt; his daughter Lucinda Powell (Ronald); his grandsons, Rodney, Eric (Ebony) and Richard; his great grandchild Aaliyah; his son Edward Merritt (Veronica); his grandchildren, Christopher, Jonathan, Madison, Zoe, Ryan, Samantha and Leila; his great grandchildren, Zachariah, Isabella and Penelope; his son Randy Merritt (Cassandra); his grandchildren, Alayna, Brayden, Carmyn and Devlyn; his son Kevin Merritt (Amanda); his grandsons, Edward, Caleb, Kristopher and Nicholas; his son Michael Merritt (Amanda Young); his grandson Wade; and his siblings, Donald, Irwin, Melvin, Wayne Merritt, Shirley Wines and Dorene Mansfield. He is also survived by many nephews, nieces, in-laws and friends.
A celebration of life will be held on Wednesday, October 15th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Liverpool Christian Church (2021 Cold Springs Rd, Liverpool, NY 13090).
