He was predeceased by : his siblings, Everett Donnelly, Russell, Harold Forget, Marion and Susan Forget.

He is survived by : his wife June Forget; his children, Darlyn Frass of Liverpool, NY and Craig Forgette of Buffalo, NY; and his sisters, Grace, Anne, Elaine, Pauline and Beverly of Montreal, QC. He is also survived by six grandchildren, and dozens of nieces and nephews.

A funeral service was held on Thursday, December 28th 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Home Team Pub (7990 Oswego Rd, Liverpool, NY 13090). A reception will be held on Saturday, June 1st 2024 at 2:00 PM at the Athelstan Presbyterian Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, contributions in Melvin's memory can be made to the Clay Historical Association and sent to 4939 Route 31, Clay, New York 13041.
