He was predeceased by : his father Harold Beals; his sisters, Clara and Dolores Beals; his sister-in-law Donna Beals; and his mother Dorothy Johnson Beals.

He is survived by : his close friend Nancy Burch; his brothers, David Beals (Denise) of Caledonia and Harold "Zuke" Beals of Groveland; his children, Jimmy Burch (Shelly), Sandy Stokesberry of Livonia, Bill Burch of Springwater and Mary Rawls of Dansville; his niece Carolyn Beals; and his nephew Greg Beals. He is also survived by several great nieces, great nephews and many cousins.
