Edward E. Rankie Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Edward E. Rankie (Lockport, New York), who passed away on June 28, 2025, at the age of 90, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As we bid Edward farewell, let us not mourn the absence of his physical form, but rather celebrate the essence of his spirit that lingers in the spaces between moments. For Edward is not truly gone, but merely transformed, his energy intertwined with the fabric of the universe itself, forever dancing among the stars.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Merle Rankie and Ruth Gombert Rankie. He is survived by: his wife Carol Rankie (Mitchell); his children, David Rankie (Holly) and Linda Poss (late Kevin); and his sister Mary Ann Fry. He is also survived by 6 grandchildren and 8 greatgrandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1st 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Prudden & Kandt Funeral Home, Inc. (242 Genesee St, Lockport, NY 14094). A funeral service will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Acacia Park Cemetery (4215 Tonawanda Creek Rd, North Tonawanda, NY 14120). A burial will be held on Wednesday, July 2nd 2025 at the same location.
In Lieu of flowers memorials to the Niagara County 4H Beef Program or to a charity of one's choice would be appreciated by the family.
