We bid farewell to Karen J. Ander of Lockport, New York, whose journey of life gracefully concluded on June 5, 2025 at the age of 76. Karen touched countless lives with warmth and kindness, leaving behind cherished memories that will forever echo in hearts. As Karen departs from this earthly realm, her essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though Karen may no longer walk beside us, her spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy Karen leaves behind.
She was predeceased by: her former husband William Newell; and her brother Ronald Hiam. She is survived by: her husband James; her daughters, Stacy Newell (Don Dubois) of Medina, NY and Stephanie Newell of Lockport, NY; her grandchildren, Amber, Derrek, Brittney and Brennen; and her sister-in-law Pauline Hiam of Lockport, NY. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
A celebration of life will be held on Thursday, June 19th 2025 at 4:00 PM at the Medina VFW (216 East Center Street, Medina, NY 14103).
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Karen's name to PAWS Animal Shelter, 3371 Gaines Basin Rd, Albion, NY 14411.
