He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Russell Schmidt and Jean Schmidt (Mammosor); his wife Rachel Schmidt (Beals); his children, Christian Schwier, Emma Jean Schmidt, Joshua Schmidt and Jacob Schmidt; and his sisters, Catherine Dombrowski, Mary Schmidt, Linda Krieb, Susan Bersola, Laura Gassman, Cindy Thomas and Dawn Stenger. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
