He was predeceased by: his parents, Richard E. Coakley and Hermina F. Coakley; and his siblings, Richard, Lois Herl and Audrey Blackley.
He is survived by: his wife Jane E. (Shanley); his children, Kathleen Patterson (Miles), Daniel Coakley (Cindy), Karen Tolli (Timothy), Matthew Coakley (Suzanne), Michael Coakley (Donna) and Kristine Kingsbury (Kirk); and his grandchildren, Vanessa, Anthony, Bethany, Molly, Megan, Karissa, Lyle, Caroline, Madison, Samantha, Hayley, Hayden, Hunter, Hudson, Jordan and Ben. He is also survived by fourteen great grandchildren.
