He was predeceased by: his father Herman Bugenhagen; his wife Mary Bugenhagen (Connor) of Virginia; his son James; and his siblings, Marguerite Wendel, Marian Luskey, Frances Conlin and Emory Bugenhagen.
He is survived by: his daughters, Molly Fachko (John), Judith Mack (Michael), Laurie Bugenhagen and Maureen Connolly (late Leonard). He is also survived by six grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.
