She was predeceased by: her parents, Robert Maxwell and Dorothy Maxwell (Domedion); her husband Harold G. Oakes; and her sisters, Lois Macaluso (late Russell) and Janet Meyers (late Frank).
She is survived by: her children, David Oakes, Daniel Oakes (Lori) and Sherryl Dugas (Wesley); her grandchildren, Jessica, Christopher, Chad, Jarrett, Eleata, Ericka and Joseph; her great grandchildren, Jake, Evan, Brodie, Mia, Alaina, Emma, Abby, Petra, Evelyn, Lawson and Laiken; and her siblings, William Maxwell and Sharon Haendiges (Phil). She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations to be made in Ruth's honor to Niagara Hospice or the American Heart Association.
