He was predeceased by: his parents, Anthony L. Hess and Millie Hess (Burnett); his brothers, Robert, Louie, Richard, Leo, David and Joseph; and his brother-in-law Jim Paige.

He is survived by: his sister Barbara Paige; and his sister-in-law Katherine Hess. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
