He was predeceased by: his parents, William Thompson and Margaret Thompson; and his sister Gail Ashline. He is survived by: his wife Lorraine; his children, Jennifer Turoff (Peter) of LaGrangeville, NY, Donna Hillebrandt of Gansevoort, NY and Robert Thompson (Jaime) of Gansevoort; his grandchildren, Margaret Turoff, Allison Hillebrandt, Joseph Thompson, Ryan Turoff, James Thompson and Julia Thompson; and his brothers-in-law, Norman Ashline of West Milton, J. Richard Burt (Virginia) of Saratoga Springs, NY and Thomas Burt (Victoria) of Frankford, DE. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, nephews, grand nieces and nephews, and good friends.
