He was predeceased by : his parents, Francis Harney and Mary Harney (Austin); and his siblings, Mary Alden, Francis W. Harney, Jr., John A. Harney, Charles A. Harney, Peter H. Harney, Robert Harney and Michael P. Harney.

He is survived by : his siblings, Pamela Bassett (Bill) of Greensboro, GA, Sheila Linscott (Eric) of Newark, DE and James Harney (Suzanne) of Fredericksburg, VA.; and his friend James.
