He was predeceased by: his parents, Egbert Carpenter and Frances Carpenter; his wife Rose Carpenter; his siblings, Jean Sandra, Chris and Jimmy; and his son Jay.
He is survived by: his children, Helen Calus, Emily Fisher (Steve), Scott Carpenter (Karen), Amy Miller (Lenny), Peggy Carpenter, Paula Carpenter and Lisa Carpenter; his siblings, David Carpenter (Linda), Floyd Carpenter (Bonnie), Albert Carpenter and Edna Bender (Bob); and his close friends, Helen Breezee and Don Calus. He is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
