It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Shirley T. Bettis of Macedon, New York, born in Rochester, New York, who passed away on August 31, 2023, at the age of 88, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Harry Pemberton and Sarah Pemberton; her significant other Carl Bettis; her siblings, Arthur Pemberton, Beatrice Fisher, Alice Stith and Earl Pemberton; and her stepdaughter Valerie Pintargo (Fernando).

She is survived by : her daughter Cheryl Engle (Marty); her grandchildren, Desere Baker (Katie Schmandt) and Harley Baker; her great grandchild Carl James Lester; her sisters, Florence Perez and Eileen Fitzpatrick; and her stepchildren, Bruce Bettis (Chrissy), Doris Holzschuh (Jim), Keith Bettis (Becky) and Carl Bettis, Jr. (Joanne). She is also survived by grandchildren, special nieces and nephews; along with many cherished friends.

In lieu of flowers please consider donating in her name to "The Lift Fund" at The First Baptist Church of Macedon, a cause she believed in to further enhance her beloved church.

“Aunt Shirley there were many fond memories of you as we were growing up. As life moved forward we were all were separated-it’s just something that happens in life. You were the last Matriarch left and you will be greatly missed. Now it’s time to wish you God speed to take your seat beside the Bettis crew in Heaven God Bless”
