He was predeceased by: his parents, Marvin Nichols and Ruth Nichols (Heatherington); and his son Mark. He is survived by: his sons, Matthew, Jackie of Madrid and Michael of Ohio; his brother Phil (Connie); and his granddaughters, Justine, Taylor and Brooke.
