He was predeceased by: his parents, Louis Lazore and Elizabeth Lazore (Papineau); his wife Betty; his son Scott Herne; and his siblings, Julia Francis, Ann Elward, Marion Lazore and Thomas Lazore.
He is survived by: his granddaughters, Alanna Herne (Taylor) of Buffalo, Shana Coleman (Michael Massey) of Buffalo, Casie Coleman (Nick Dentico) of Buffalo and Leanne Coleman (late Adam Shugg) of Buffalo; and his daughter-in-law Sonya Herne. He is also survived by 13 great grandchildren, many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, October 1st 2026 at 12:00 PM at the Kateri Hall (597 NY-37, Hogansburg, NY 13655). A funeral service was held on Friday, October 2nd 2026 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the St. Regis Catholic Church (107 Angus Thomas Memorial Road, Akwesasne, QC H0M1A0).
