She was predeceased by: her husband Thomas F. Fiala; her parents, William Midwinter and Loretto Midwinter; and her sister Jean Midwinter Rudroff. She is survived by: her children, Gail (Jeffrey) of Malverne, NY, Stephen (Wendy) of New Hope, PA and Carol (Ron) of Richmond, VA.; her grandchildren, Mark, John (Lindsay), Allison, Kevin (Allie), Juliann, Thomas (Kellie) and Brian (Courtney); and her great grandchildren, Owen, Sawyer, Madeleine, Declan, Lucy, Hunter, Theodore and Mason.
In lieu of flowers, Ruth's wishes were for donations to the St. Francis Bread For the Poor located at the St. Francis of Assisi Church on West 31st Street in New York City.
