He was predeceased by : his father Domingo Sanchez; and his brothers, Angel and Oscar Sanchez. He is survived by : his mother Virginia Sanchez; his spouse Christian Chase; his siblings, Nelson Vega, Iris Mendez and Doris Leon; and his stepson Jack Chase. He is also survived by nieces and nephews and a large extended family.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations in John's memory be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105.
