He was predeceased by: his parents, John A. Seymour and Ruth A. Vader; and his sister Patricia. He is survived by: his wife Janet; his children, Sandra Bureau (Allen), David Seymour (Melissa) and James Seymour (Edith); his grandchildren, Caitlin Hassett (Michael), Andrew Seymour (Maggie Benhadda), Hillary Bureau (Jesse Homan), Isabelle Bureau (James Porter III), Ashley Seymour (Joe Tamsen), Michael Seymour (Nicole Christiansen) and Mary Frances Seymour; his great grandchildren, Jones, Violet, Julien Homan and River Christiansen; and his siblings, Gene Seymour (Ingrid), Doug Seymour and Ruthann Conway.
Visitation was held on Thursday, August 27th 2026 from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at the Ryan Funeral Home (44 E Main St, Marcellus, NY 13108). A memorial service was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 10:00 AM at the Amber Congregational Church (2394 Otisco Valley Rd, Marietta, NY 13110). A burial was held on Friday, August 28th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Amber Cemetery (2565 Otisco Valley Rd, Marietta, NY 13110).
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Amber Fire Department or to the Amber Congregational Church.
