He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Thorpe and Ruth Thorpe (Torrey); his brothers, Jim, Robert and Jeff; and his sibling-in-law Sandy.
He is survived by: his wife Kathleen (Cannon); his children, Lisa Hancock (Nathaniel), Theresa, Todd (Dawn), Bridgette Kershaw (Dave), Scott Irving (Johanna), Matthew Irving (Liz) and Margaret Stokking (Kris); his great grandchildren, Christopher, Richard, Zachary, Allison, Matthew, Sydney, William, Evan, Oliver, Jack, Kali, Max, Sloane, Sam and Rowan; and his siblings, Joseph (Maryann), Sue, Mike (Helen), Dennis and Nancy. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews.
