It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Douglas J. VanHatten of Marcy, New York, born in Utica, New York, who passed away on October 23, 2023, at the age of 67, leaving to mourn family and friends. He was predeceased by : his parents, Bernard VanHatten and Anna VanHatten (Dunn). He is survived by : his wife Gail Smithling of Marcy; his children, Cynthia VanHatten (Crow) and Theodore VanHatten (Teddy); and his siblings, Deborah A. Colver (David) of Morrisonville, NY, Bernard Dale VanHatten (Christine) of Ilion and Thomas VanHatten of Marcy. He is also survived by his family as a loving husband, and father.
