He was predeceased by: his father Andrew Trinkaus; his brother Tom Trinkaus; his father-in-law William J. Murphy; his brothers-in-law, William A. Murphy and Terry Balfe; and his nephew Greg Trinkaus.
He is survived by: his mother Anna Trinkaus (O'Neill); his wife Kim of Peter's Church; his son Jason; his daughter-in-law Beth Trinkaus (Durr) of Marcy; his granddaughters, Maggie of Marcy, Ella of Marcy, Erin of Marcy and Molly of Marcy; his siblings, Peg Trinkaus of Oriskany, Barbe Balfe of Holland Patent, Daniel Trinkaus of Oriskany, Kevin Trinkaus of Colorado and Kyle Trinkaus of Colorado; and his mother-in-law Gertrude Murphy of Marcy. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Visitation was held on Thursday, September 3rd 2026 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Heintz Funeral Home (408 Herkimer Rd, Utica, NY 13502). A funeral Mass was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at 9:30 AM at the St. Mark's Church (440 Keyes Rd, Utica, NY 13502). A burial was held on Friday, September 4th 2026 at the Mount Olivet Cemetery (70 Wood Rd, Whitesboro, NY 13492).
In lieu of flowers, donations in John's memory may kindly be made to the Maynard Fire Department, 9500 Maynard Drive, Marcy, NY 13403; the Notre Dame Girls Basketball Program, c/o John Snyder, 19 Westminster Road, Utica, NY 13501 or Shriners Children's New England, 516 Carew Street, Springfield, MA 01104, in memory of his brother, Tom. Donation envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
