Mardon of Averill Park and Susan Guilz-Mardon (Donald) of Averill Park; his brother Daniel Mardon (Rachel) of Averill Park; and his grandmothers, Bernadette Mardon of Averill Park and Jane Guilz of Rotterdam. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, and cousins.

“Please accept our most heartfelt sympathies for your loss. Matt was such a kind and gentle soul. He was such a great teammate, and we will sorely miss him. Matt was so friendly and caring with everyone. I've never seen him at a game or outside of kickball get angry or raise his voice to anyone. I will always remember him pacing back and forth during our kickball games when he wasn't in the field playing. I will truly miss Matt's sweet smile and gentle soul.
