It is with great sadness that we announce the death of George Leonard Ampela (Massapequa, New York), who passed away on November 23, 2025, at the age of 85, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the vast expanse of eternity, George shall find rest, cradled in the arms of everlasting peace. And as we bid George farewell, his loved ones carry with them the precious gift of his memory, a beacon of hope guiding them through the shadows of sorrow towards the light of a new dawn.
He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, John Ampela and Genevieve Ampela; his children, Michael Ampela (Carole Kerzic), Lorraine Ampela, John Ampela (Alicia Nti) and Ray Ampela (Lucy Schaeffer-Ampela); and his granddaughter Alexa Rosemarie Ampela.
A funeral Mass was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at the Saint Rose of Lima R. C. Church (2 Bayview Ave, Massapequa, NY 11758). An entombment was held on Friday, December 5th 2025 from 11:45 AM to 12:15 PM at the Pinelawn Memorial Park (2030 Wellwood Ave, Farmingdale, NY 11735).
