He was predeceased by: his wife Eileen; his children, Richard (Lu), Debra (James), John (Debbie), Michael, Kathleen (Scott), Brian (Donna) and Elizabeth; and his grandchildren, James, Michael, Michelle, Jennifer, Kevin, Melissa, Brian, Anthony, Vincent, Joseph, Erin, Kelly, Kim and Thomas.
He is survived by: his sister Catherine. He is also survived by great-grandchildren.
After serving 20 years with the New York Police Department, James retired with a deep sense of pride in his contributions to the city he loved.
