She was predeceased by: her parents, Charles Fitchett and Anna Fitchett (Appel); and her husband Bernie. She is survived by: her brother William Fitchett; her children, Jennifer Volchko, Philip Fezza, Liz DeLuca (Michael) and Bernice Burns (Michael); her grandchildren, Nicholas Volchko (Jessica), Michael John Burns (Tiffany), Ciara Staehlin (Chris), Alissa Wendelken (Tyler), Samantha Fezza-Valle (Manny), Selina Fezza, Christina DeLuca, Joseph Fezza and Daria Burns; and her great grandchildren, Ruth, Zachary, Zander, Emma, Zane, Zoe, Parker, Brynley, Athena and Selene.
Visitation will be held on Wednesday, October 8th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and from 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM at the Charles G. Schmitt Funeral Home (3863 Merrick Rd, Seaford, NY 11783). A funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the same location. A burial will be held on Thursday, October 9th 2025 at the Pinelawn Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, please donate to St. Jude's Children's Hospital in the name of Skylin Ruth Burns, her great granddaughter who preceded her in death.
