He was predeceased by: his parents, Alexander Mere and Mary Mere (Hunter); his wife Carol Pidgeon; his daughter Vickie Mere; his grandson Gauge Mere; and his brothers, Alexander "Joe" Mere, Jr. and Lawrence "Buster" Mere.

He is survived by: his children, Kevin (Renee Mere), Cory Mere of Massena, Tammie (Willy Perez) and Scott (Chantelle Mere); his grandchildren, Breanna, Connor, Mason, Garrett, Lily, Gavin, Kendal and Charlotte; and his stepgrandchildren, Charissa Lamb (Ryan) and Justin Plourde. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorial contributions may be made in his memory to the Parishville Fire Department or the Parishville AMVETS.
