In loving memory of Ruth E. Shaffer of Massena, New York, born in White Mills, Pennsylvania, who departed this world on October 8, 2025 at the age of 93. She was predeceased by: her parents, Ernest S. Watson and Elizabeth Utegg Watson; her former husbands, Charles Shaffer and John J. Strazalka; her daughter Gloria Phillips; her brothers, Joseph, James and Marvin Watson; her sister-in-law Jean Mullen Watson; and her great grandchild Thomas Reome.
She is survived by: her sister Ann Sanderson of Honesdale, PA; her sisters-in-law, Gertrude Watson of White Mills, PA and Pat Watson of Pleasant Mount, PA; her sons, Glenn Gunsauls, Jr. (Nancy) of Thaxton, VA and Kevin Strzalka (Dana) of Massena, NY; her stepsons, Charles Shaffer (Lisa) of Ransomville, NY and Gerald Shaffer (Marcia) of Keystone Heights, Fla.; and her grandchildren, Shawn McKeel (Lisa) of Massena, Diane Parden of Honesdale, PA, Derek Strzalka of Rochester, NY and Alexia Olsen (Eric) of Bedford, NH.. She is also survived by many great-grandchildren, great-great-grandchildren, as well as nieces and nephews.
