She was predeceased by: her parents, John Gates and Ethel Foster Gates; her siblings, Kenneth Gates, John F Gates, Thomas Gates, Phyllis Mignerey and Jan Delaney; and her stepson Richard Lum III.

She is survived by: her husband Richard H Lum Jr.; her daughters, Deb Estes and Kelly Lum; her stepdaughter Marjorie Ramey (Shawn); her children, Kim Stephens (Leslie), Kirby Stephens (Martha), Kip Stephens (Joann) and Ryleigh; her pets, Kymberly Naylor (Martin), Jaclyn Stephens, Mackenzie Brewer (Brandy), Morgan Stephens, Madison Best (Sam), Margaux Belvin (Hunter), Justin (Urszula), Michael Jankuv, Hunter and Austin Quillan; her siblings, Daniel Gates, Gregg Gates and Alice Jean Donovan; her cousin George Gates (Cindy); Taylor, Jaxon, Dom, Gianna and Louis. She is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
