We announce the death of Russell A. Scira Sr. of McDonough, New York, who passed away on September 20, 2026, at the age of 90. Russell will be remembered by family members, friends, and others whose lives were connected in meaningful ways. Russell will be remembered for the impact he had on the lives of those around him. Friends, family, and colleagues will cherish their memories and the time shared. Russell’s absence will be deeply felt by those who valued his companionship.
He was predeceased by: his wife Caroline. He is survived by: his children, Lauralee Shafer (Jim), Russell Scira Jr. (Rusty) and Mark Scira (Barb); and his grandchildren, Anna Shafer, Brian Shafer (Samantha) and Avalon Polsz (Darren). He is also survived by his children and grandchildren, but countless family members and friends.
A reception will be held on Saturday, October 10th 2026 at the Berean Bible Church (109 County Rd 2, Greene, NY 13778).
