He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Schaal and Eleanor Schaal; and his brother Thomas Schaal. He is survived by: his sister Celia Rees of Sayville, NY.; his sister-in-law Patsy Schaal of Bridgeville, PA.; his nephews, Robert Schaal (Elizabeth) and Michael Schaal (Melissa); his great-nephews, Joshua and Michael; and his great-niece Molly.
