He was predeceased by: his parents, Lawrence Bernard and Bernice Bernard (Gursslin); his wife Rosemary; and his brothers, Frank and Daniel Bernard.
He is survived by: his children, Laura Zorn (Paul Lukaszonas) of Pendleton, Beth Benedict (Brett) of Rush and Robert Bernard Jr. of Buffalo; his sisters, Kathy Scarborough (Richard) of Middleport, Carol Costello (Dick) of Barker and Mary Taylor (Ed) of Gasport; and his grandchildren, Erin, Zachary, Hannah, Avery, Christopher and Katie. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
