He was predeceased by: his grandfathers, Antonios Kanakis of Lynbrook, NY and Harry L. Pon of Charlottesville; and his uncle Sotirios "Terry" Kanakis of Greece. He is survived by: his parents, Peter Kanakis and Barbara Kanakis; his sibling Zoi Ruocco; his daughters, Adelina and Penelope Kanakis; his grandmothers, Zoi Kanakis of Lynbrook, NY and Maria Pon of Chesapeake, VA; his aunt Vicky Kanakis of Lynbrook, NY; and his friend Maria Manciero of Merrick, NY. He is also survived by many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews.
