She was predeceased by : her parents, Joan Pappas (Archambeault) and Leonard Pappas; and her son Randall Schanz. She is survived by : her husband Alfred Schanz of Middleburgh; her daughters, Erica Schanz of Troy and Lisa Schanz of Troy; her daughter-in-law Amber Schanz of North Carolina; her grandchildren, Gavin, Chase and Courtney; and her siblings, Joan Ciccarelli (Carmen) of Troy, Leonard Pappas of Watervliet and William Pappas (Jeanine) of Watervliet. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Memorials in Dawn's honor may be sent to the Alzheimer's Association of Northeastern New York, 1003 Loudon Rd, Cohoes, NY 12047.
