James Spencer Obituary
With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Spencer of Middleburgh, New York, who passed away on August 25, 2025 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
In the hush of twilight, as the stars twinkle in silent homage, we reflect on the legacy James leaves behind and his impact on the lives of his loved ones. Though James may no longer walk among us, his spirit lives on in the memories held dear by his family and friends, a guiding light that illuminates their paths in times of darkness.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Frank R. Spencer and Matilda Spencer (Rivenburg); and his wife Eleanor Spencer (Borgelt). He is survived by: his brother Robert Spencer; and his sibling's children, Kim Smith (Hoerz), Robert Hoerz, Allen Spencer, Stephen Hoerz (Vicky) and Lane Spencer (Brenda). He is also survived by nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.
Visitation was held on Friday, September 5th 2025 from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Coltrain Funeral Home (134 River St, Middleburgh, NY 12122). A memorial service was held on Saturday, September 6th 2025 at 10:00 AM at the Middleburgh Reformed Church (178 River St, Middleburgh, NY 12122).
