Donna was a graduate of the 1972 class at Middletown High School. She was a longtime employee of the telephone company Contel/Frontier, before moving into her career as a Certified Nursing Assistant at Orange Regional/Garnet Health Medical Center where she spent many years impacting lives on the Tucker Unit (Cancer Ward). She made a difference for many people, whether they were patients, coworkers or family. She was hope when hope was lost.

A lifetime parishioner and eucharistic minister at Our Lady of Mt. Carmel Church, her catholic religion was very important to her. She will be remembered for her soft-spoken nature, big heart, kindness and giving personality.

Donna loved to dance and actually had rhythm. She loved to listen to Motown. She was an avid reader and treasured her books. She was also a huge animal lover and throughout the years had many pets. After losing her daughter, one special dog came into her life, gifted from her aunt and close friend Marie Creeden. Jasmine and Donna had a bond that was rare. The love they shared was true and pure and Jasmine is with her now.

She had many longtime friendships. These women were more like sisters; Ree Sherman who has passed, was her closest friend and Sue O'Brien, her best closest friend who she treasured very much. More recently at her apartment complex, she met a group of people that shared a love for animals and felt like they have known each other forever. We know that she truly cherished the friendships she made there, especially Cathy Irwin.

Donna is predeceased by her parents Russell and Hellen Marie Creeden, brother Rusty Creeden, and her youngest daughter Melissa Sue Bakker. Also, her Godson, Shaun O'Brien. She was truly honored to be a Godmother to many.

Donna was a daughter, wife, mother, sister, Nama, grandma and great-grandmother. She is survived her daughters Shannon Bakker Burgos (Wilberto Burgos) and Kristen Bakker. Grandsons Anthony DeVos, Dominic DeVos (Forever her Angel), Phoenix Johnson, and Phallen Johnson. Granddaughters Abigail Melissa Burgos, Madison Marie Burgos and Great Grand Daughter Viola DeVos.

A visitation will be held on Wednesday October 25th, from 3PM-7PM at Martinez-Morse Funeral Home, 33 Railroad Avenue, Middletown, NY 10940. A mass will take place on Thursday, October 26 at 10AM at Our lady of Mt. Carmel Church, followed by a burial at Wallkill Cemetery, Wallkill, NY.
