He is survived by : his children, Gary Mapes, Stacy Arroyo, Joseph Mapes Sr. and Faith Allen (Jared Allen) of Middletown, NY; his grandchildren, Joseph Mapes Jr., Summer Mapes, Joel Arroyo, Kadin Mapes, Wyatt Hager and Howard Hager of Middletown, NY; his great grandchild Avianna Mapes of Binghamton, NY; and his siblings, Robert Mapes (Tammy Mapes) of Middletown, NY, John Mapes (Idella Mapes) of Middletown, NY, Sandy Dollaway of Florida, Doris Mcdowell of Maryland, Linda, Cain of Maryland, Virginia Mapes of Maryland, Rose Hamilton of Florida and Cathrine Mobley of Indiana. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
