He was predeceased by: his parents, Llewellyn McGar and Elsie McGar; and his daughter Kim L. McGar Durland. He is survived by: his sons, John McGar Jr. and Michael McGar (Kelly Jonigan); his former wife Dorothy McGar Kardys; his brother David McGar; his grandchildren, Jaime McGar, Brittany Pasquinelli, Katharine Jonigan-McGar and Liam Jonigan-McGar; his sisters, Evelyn Paduch, Lillian Avery and Barbara McCorvey; and his grandchildren, Jacqueline and Evan. He is also survived by his great-grandchildren and his nieces and nephews.
