He was predeceased by: his father Carlton Vernooy. He is survived by: his mother Mary Deubler Vernooy; his wife Sandra L. Vernooy; his children, Sarah (Rich Walter) and Michael Vernooy; his brother Richard Vernooy (Grace); and his nephews, Douglas and Daniel Vernooy.
In lieu of flowers, due to allergies the family requests donations be made to a local humane society in John's honor.
