He was predeceased by: his mother Mary (Peter Sawka Sr.); and his brothers, William, Kenneth, Bryant and Peter Sawka, Jr..
He is survived by: his stepchildren, Brittany Ambrosio-Todd, Richard Ambrosio, Jr. and Nick; his grandsons, Leo and Logan; and his sisters, Catherine Fineberg, Christine Grecco, Frances Sawka King and Helen Ranallo. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, October 28th 2025 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Applebee-McPhillips Funeral Home (130 Highland Ave, Middletown, NY 10940).
