Rene leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Rene’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Rene will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Rupert Smith and Marcelle Whiteman. He is survived by: his children, Renault "Chris" Smith Jr., Antwon Smith, Henry Brinson and Jay Smith; and his siblings, Denise Pilgrim, Deborah Subhaw, Andrew Whiteman and Anthony Whiteman. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, September 26th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Martinez Morse Funeral Home (33 Railroad Ave, Middletown, NY 10940).
