He was predeceased by: his parents, Thomas Nelson and Gladys Nelson (Cooley); and his brother Tommy Nelson. He is survived by: his children, Julie Matt (Steven) of Utica, Scott Nelson (Dentiny Leroy) of Mohawk and Sarah Nelson (Christopher Gleason) of Mohawk; his grandchildren, Hannah, Billy, Travis, Emily, Tayler and Ellie; his great grandchildren, Phoebe and Ace; and his siblings, Janice Nelson of Florida and Dana Nelson of South Carolina.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, October 31st 2026 from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Waterfront Grill (800 Mohawk St, Herkimer, NY 13350).
