Robert Maurice Hastings Obituary

With sadness, we share the passing of Robert Maurice Hastings of Moira, New York. Robert, born on May 29, 1938, passed away on October 1, 2026. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

He was predeceased by: his parents, Herbert Hastings and Anna Hastings (Pickering); his brother Donald Hastings; and his brother-in-law David Gonyea. He is survived by: his wife June Lyon; his son Timothy Lyon; his foster daughters, Michelle Russell of Dickinson and Heather Recore (Jeremy) of Malone; his siblings, Hollis Hastings (Deborah) and Charlotte Gonyea of Dickinson; and his godchildren, Travis Akin of North Bangor and Anneashia Akin.

A graveside service will be held on Thursday, October 8th 2026 at 11:00 AM at the Sunnyside Cemetery.

In keeping with Robert's caring spirit and connection to his community, memorial contributions in his honor may be made to the Moira Rescue Squad.
