He was predeceased by: his parents, Santos Velasquez and Adela Simpson Velasquez; his wife Fanny Velasquez; and his son Alvaro Velasquez. He is survived by: his daughter Sandra Cely; and his sons-in-law, Jose Cely and Walter Thompson.
