He was predeceased by: his daughter Wrenleigh Pyhtila. He is survived by: his parents, George Pyhtila and Jane Pyhtila; and his siblings, Sarah Yonts (Pyhtila), Matt Pyhtila, Matt Redmond and Rachel Pyhtila. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
