Derrick leaves behind cherished memories for friends, family, and all who had the privilege of knowing him. Derrick’s life was marked by connections and experiences that touched those around him. Though he is no longer with us, the moments shared, the laughter, and the support he offered will continue to resonate. All who knew Derrick will carry forward his memory in their hearts.
He was predeceased by: his parents, Dennis A. Gadway and Shirley A. Gadway (Venne). He is survived by: his wife Edith Gadway (Matott); his children, Andre Cameira, Michael Gadway, Demetrius Gadway and Amy Sue LeClair (Gus Kamburelis); his sister Robin Fortsch; and his siblings-in-law, Rose Matott and Paul Matott. He is also survived by grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Visitation was held on Tuesday, September 8th 2026 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Hamilton Funeral Home (793 Gilbert Rd, Mooers, NY 12958).
In lieu of flowers, donations in his memory may be made to Hospice of the North Country.
