He was predeceased by: his parents, Peter Gonyo and Dorothy Gonyo (Boulerice); his spouse Shirley Yelle; and his siblings, Charles Gonyo, Margaret Monette, Earl Gonyo, Arnold Gonyo, Irene Bushey, Patricia Wood and Harry Gonyo.

He is survived by: his children, Catherine Gonyo, Mary (Terry Guay), Michael (Tammy Gonyo), Mark Gonyo, Scott (Kimberly Gonyo) and Matthew (Tricia Gonyo); his grandsons, Nicholas Guay (Barbara), Brandon Gonyo, Zachary Guay (Amber), Austin Gonyo (Ashley), Alexander Gonyo (Katelyn), Casey Gonyo (Lauren Dube), Hayden Gonyo (Callie Harvey), Nolan Gonyo and Noah Gonyo (Cassie Ashline); his great grandchildren, Stevey Kate Gonyo, Holly Guay, Estelle Gonyo and Millie Gonyo; and his siblings-in-law, Bonnie Gonyo, Joseph Yelle (Carol) and Raymond Duprey. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and step-grandchildren.
